In
the heart of the Civic Center area just to the east of Old Pasadena and
across from the Civic Center Auditorium is Paseo Colorado, which opened in
September 2001. The City operates three parking structures with over 2,500
parking spaces that serve this mixed-use urban village, full of fine shops
and restaurants, anchored by Macy’s Department Store, Pacific Theaters, Gelson’s Market, and the Equinox Fitness Club. The Los Robles Parking

The
Playhouse District is located between and adjacent to the Civic Center
and South Lake business areas. The City owns and operates two parking lots
in this District. The Playhouse Parking Lot is located in back of
the historic Playhouse Theatre at 44 South Madison Avenue (between Colorado
and Green) and is accessible from both Madison Avenue and Green Street. The
Union/ El Molino Parking Lot is located at 100 North El Molino Avenue
on the northeast corner of Union Street and El Molino Avenue (between Union
and Walnut) and has access from both these arterials. These parking lots
are located within walking distance to many retail shops, restaurants and
theatres. Both lots contain between 90 to 100 spaces, and offer daily
parking permits with rates of $1 per hour, or $5 for an all day permit for
Playhouse Lot and $5 for an all day permit at Union/El Molino Lot. Each lot has two pay and display machines where these daily parking permits
can be purchased.
The
South Lake Avenue business district is also an
area where plenty of free parking is available to customers and visitors
of the many fine retail stores, restaurants and office buildings. The parking
lots owned and operated by the City are located behind the businesses on the
east side of Lake Avenue between Shoppers Lane, Mentor Avenue, Cordova
Street, and San Pasqual Street. Customers can enjoy shopping,
eating and 2 hours of free parking in any of the 750 parking spaces.
For parking needs beyond 2 hours, daily parking permits can be purchased
from three pay and display machines located along the east wall (Mentor
side) of the
parking lots. The daily rates are $1 per hour or $5
for an all day permit.
All these parking facilities are located close to the City's
free transit service in the Old
Pasadena, Civic Center, Playhouse, and South Lake areas. All also
offer monthly parking permits at various rates, depending on availability.
