PASADENA PLANT BANK REDEDICATED
The self-service Pasadena Plant Bank was rededicated today for the
enjoyment of local residents.
A 25-year tradition, the plant bank is a public repository of plant
material that otherwise would be thrown away. Any Pasadena resident can
“deposit” surplus shrubs, trees and flowering plants and, by the same
token, “withdraw” what they need for their own gardens.
The plant bank’s display area has been freshly painted and there is a
new sign with directions that are very simple: Bring a plant/Take a
plant.
A partnership of the city of Pasadena and Pasadena Beautiful Foundation,
the plant bank requires no sign-in process or fees. Plants may be
deposited in pots, cans, milk cartons and other containers.
The plant bank is at the southeast end of the parking lot at Jackie
Robinson Center, 1020 N. Fair Oaks Ave.
