MINNESOTAN WILL BE PASADENA’S
DIRECTOR OF TRANSPORTATION

City Manager Cynthia Kurtz announces that Fred Dock of Iteris Inc., a transportation consulting firm in Minneapolis, Minn., has been selected as Pasadena’s new director of transportation effective in early December.

Dock has been principal in charge of Iteris since 2000. The firm develops advanced technologies that reduce traffic congestion and improve street safety. His former employers include Parsons Transportation Group in Minneapolis and TJM Transportation Consultants in Pleasanton, Calif.

He earned a bachelor’s and master’s degree in civil engineering from University of California, Berkeley.

“Fred Dock has a strong background in transportation planning and development,” said Kurtz in making the appointment. “He has a reputation as an exceptional manager and is sensitive to community-based traffic and transportation issues.”

He will oversee the Pasadena Transportation Department, which includes parking management, transit planning and operations, transportation planning and development, and traffic engineering. The department has 47 employees and a $28 million annual budget.
