MINNESOTAN WILL BE PASADENA’S
DIRECTOR OF TRANSPORTATION
City Manager Cynthia Kurtz announces that Fred Dock of Iteris Inc., a
transportation consulting firm in Minneapolis, Minn., has been selected
as Pasadena’s new director of transportation effective in early
December.
Dock has been principal in charge of Iteris since 2000. The firm
develops advanced technologies that reduce traffic congestion and
improve street safety. His former employers include Parsons
Transportation Group in Minneapolis and TJM Transportation Consultants
in Pleasanton, Calif.
He earned a bachelor’s and master’s degree in civil engineering from
University of California, Berkeley.
“Fred Dock has a strong background in transportation planning and
development,” said Kurtz in making the appointment. “He has a reputation
as an exceptional manager and is sensitive to community-based traffic
and transportation issues.”
He will oversee the Pasadena Transportation Department, which includes
parking management, transit planning and operations, transportation
planning and development, and traffic engineering. The department has 47
employees and a $28 million annual budget. |
