Support Operations Division - Traffic Section

Welcome to the Traffic Section of the Pasadena Police Department.  The Traffic Section, which is made up of a Lieutenant, two Sergeants, a Corporal, sixteen motorcycle officers, a community service officer, and an office manager.

The Traffic Section is the primary unit at the police department that monitors traffic safety in the city of Pasadena.  The 16 motorcycle officers issue citations, occasional warnings, respond to accidents, and handle our traffic safety programs.  Our community services officer handles traffic collisions and is responsible for removing abandoned cars off the street.

The Traffic Section is part of the Support Operations Division under the leadership of Commander Rick Law, who reports directly to the Chief of Police, Bernard K. Melekian.

  Mission Statement

  The mission of the Traffic Section is to provide a safer city for all citizens through traffic enforcement, education and engineering.  The primary goal of this section is the reduction of highway deaths, personal injury and property damage due to traffic collisions.

  The Traffic Section is part of the Support Operations Division under the leadership of Commander Rick Law, who reports directly to the Chief of Police, Bernard K. Melekian.
