Planning & Development Department

  • What We Do

    The P&D Department's Building and Neighborhood Revitalization  Division (BNR) is committed to serving as partners for solutions in the development of safe, healthy and economically viable neighborhoods.  Its role is to ensure the long-term competitive position of the Pasadena's housing stock leveraging the partnerships with the public and private sectors.  BNR accomplishes this through the development of ordinances, enforcement of the city's zoning, housing and environmental codes, graffiti removal, and providing maintenance assistance and services to homeowners.

     BNR manages the Buildings, Code Compliance, Maintenance Assistance and Services to homeowners (MASH), Graffiti Abatement and the Permit Center sections.  BNR contains two inspection teams, one for code compliance and one for building inspections (building/plan check).
