    Celebrating Comics!

    Join us for FREE Comic Book Day, an annual event held the first Saturday in May throughout the United States. Children and Teens can pick up a free comic book, while supplies last, by stopping in any Pasadena Public Library on Saturday, May 2. Comics suitable for various age groups will be available at each site.

    Join us as comic book creators Jen Wang (In real life, Koko Be Good), Sina Grace and Michael Stock (Penny Dora) talk about life as comic book creators and sign copies of their books.

    Meet 20 Young Adult authors as they present a series of panels and book signings.  Swag, giveaways, and light refreshments provided. Free tote bags for the first 150 people to arrive.     Mother/Daughter Book Club

    For girls ages 10-13 and their moms (or an adult guest of their choice). The group discusses books that inspire compassion, self-esteem, and courage in the face of social pressure, exploring with it means to be a strong, confident young woman.

    YA Book Club

    Adults and Teens welcome.  If you need to read it, pick up a book group copy at the Children’s Desk at Central Library.  Recommended for ages 14 and up.  Questions?  Call (626) 744-4246 or email Jane Gov at jgov@cityofpasadena.net
    Meetings will take place in Teen Central (fourth floor). Meetings usually last about 90 minutes. 

    • YA Book Club will be taking a break until Summer Reading Challenge. Check back later for meeting times!
    • In the meantime, check out the open meetings hosted by our friends, the YA Book Council.  Some meetings are open to the public and are usually held in Pasadena.

    Advanced Placement Mock Exams. Students can choose to take a practice AP Literature exam or practice AP U.S. History exam. Students: please bring pencils and a snack. The tests last approximately 4 hours. *Workshop sponsored by C2 Education

    Sculpturing with Hot Knives
