The first Lamanda Park Branch opened in 1922, in a small room in Emerson School. The second was at the present site, but was a relocated section of the old library from Raymond & Walnut. The current building, designed by Pulliam, Zimmerman and Matthews, Architects and Planners, was completed on October 14, 1967 and is 6,200 square feet. Branch staff can accommodate English, Spanish and American Sign Language speaking patrons.

All children’s storytimes are suitable to age group and could include stories, songs, fingerplays, plus fun for everyone.Preschool Storytime: Tuesday at 10:30am for 3-5year olds.Infant/Toddle Storytime: Thursdays at 10:30am for up to 36 months.Family Storytime: Thursdays at 3:30pm.

The branch has approximately ----- items. The juvenile collection is strongest in the areas of picture books and folktales. The adult collection includes mysteries and a good basic collection of popular fiction. There are special sections for reference materials, Braille books for children and adults, large type books, career books, accessibility and inclusion books, American Sign Language Video Books, and books on CD. The branch also has a small Spanish collection for children and adults. The Sara Reading Appliance and Peek-A-Book station is available for use in the Branch.
The Braille Institute Library Services has authorized the Lamanda Park Branch as a site to assist registered members of the Braille Library with check out of Braille tape recording machines and books on tape as well as the digital talking book players and the digital books.
The meeting room with tables and chairs will accommodate up to 34 people. This room is free to groups who do not charge an admission fee or restrict admission on the basis of membership.
Lamanda Park Branch has two long standing special programs for adults. The Great Literature Discussion Group is a book discussion group that reviews different literary selections. The art of lip reading is taught by a memory enhancement instructor from Pasadena City College on Wednesdays, fall through spring.
Lamanda Park Branch Library is pleased to offer free wireless Internet access to patrons with appropriately equipped wireless devices. A valid Pasadena Library Card and PIN are required to access the library's wireless Internet services.
Lamanda Park Branch offers teacher class cards to teachers who live or work in Pasadena. Hamilton Elementary and Willard Elementary Schools are the nearest Pasadena Unified Schools to the Branch.
