Advise City staff and officials about obligations under State and Federal law that municipal buildings and other facilities, services (including transportation), and employment practices not discriminate on the basis of disability. Coordinate the City's effort to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act. Investigate complaints of inaccessibility and discrimination based on disability in City facilities, services, and employment practices.  Provide staff support to the City's Commission on Accessibility and Disability.

Assist interested residents and visitors eliminate accessibility barriers in the private sector by providing advice and reference materials about the Americans with Disabilities Act and other disability rights laws. Explain the application of accessibility provisions in the California State Building Code and ADA Accessibility Guidelines.
