Public Art Master Plan
In response to Cultural Nexus’ call for a “new vision for public art,” Cultural Affairs convened a Public Art Task Force and worked with the Commission to expand the focus to include a citywide Public Art Plan, currently in development. The Public Art Master Plan is intended to prioritize public art project development and placement city wide. By instituting broad goals and objectives, the plan will unify current public art program guidelines and identify funding sources for implementation. An Advisory Group will vet input gathered via public community meetings and stakeholder interviews. A Plan will be presented to Council in 2012.
Draft recommendations of the Public Art Master Plan will be presented at the following Community Meetings:
Thursday, March 1 at 6:30 pm
The Armory Center for the Arts
145 N. Raymond Avenue, Pasadena
(Parking is available at the Raymond Avenue Parking Garage just north of the Armory between Holly and Walnut, in addition to street parking.)
Saturday, March 3 at 10:00 am
Jackie Robinson Community Center
1020 N. Fair Oaks Avenue, Pasadena
(Parking is available onsite.)
We hope that you will be able to join us to review the Plan recommendations and to provide your feedback! You are an important component of Pasadena’s new vision for public art.
Additional community meetings will be scheduled in April 2012.
