After 14 years of leadership Phyllis Currie has retired from the city's owned municipal utility- Pasadena Water and Power (PWP) on June 30. The City will be conducting a nation-wide search for a permanent General Manager. During this transition, the City Manager has appointed Eric Klinkner as the Interim General Manager. Mr. Klinkner is currently the Deputy General Manager, a role he has held for more than a decade and has been with PWP since 1995.
July 30, 2013. Pasadena Water and Power (PWP) is warning customers of a scammer posing as a PWP employee. The caller has phoned several customers stating they are required to pay their water or power bill to avoid disconnection. Many of the calls have been in Spanish and have requested that payments be made at CVS, Walgreens, or by gift card purchases.
PWP will NEVER call customers to request personal information or credit card/payment information. PWP only accepts delinquent payments in person at the City Hall Municipal Services counter, online via customer login, or by phone at (626) 744-4764. Beware of scammers who demand payment by any other means than these.
