    Occupational Safety and Health

The City Safety Office coordinates and manages City-wide efforts to identify, address, and resolve occupational safety issues.  Working with managers, supervisors, and employees, the City, along with the Safety Office, strives to ensure that employees are working as safely and efficiently as possible.

    Our Mission

The City Safety Office’s mission is to help employees, supervisors, managers, and the City maintain a safe working environment with minimal loss through cost-effective efforts.  We do this by:

    • Providing job hazard assessments and injury, vehicle accident, and property damage investigations.  This information assists Departments with developing benchmarks and performance measurements for their work units, as well as identify areas with loss potential.

    • Conducting work-site safety inspections and job hazard assessments, including workplace and office ergonomic evaluations.

    • Developing and presenting safety training materials and safety training sessions for an educated workforce.

    • Developing reports for injuries, vehicle accidents, and property damage to identify soul source hazard mitigating options.

    • Providing consulting services regarding Cal-OSHA, DMV, DOT regulations and other regulatory requirements.
