A multi-day intensive workshop, also known as a charrette, was held at Pasadena City College in November 2010. At the charrette, the community, the General Plan Update Advisory Committee (GPUAC), city commissioners and city staff worked collaboratively in developing and designing draft themes, or alternatives, for the updated General Plan.
The charrette began with six themes, which eventually evolved after discussions with the community into four draft alternatives. In the winter and spring of 2011, the alternatives were analyzed and evaluated for impacts.
In June and July 2011, a community survey was conducted to receive feedback on the alternatives.
