Santa Catalina Branch Library will receive a landscape make over courtesy of Pasadena Beautiful and the Pasadena Community Foundation. Project partners; Pasadena Beautiful, Pasadena Public Library and the City of Pasadena’s Public Works Parks and Natural Resources Division have designed a beautiful low maintenance, drought tolerant, eco friendly garden complete with a new water saving irrigation system.
The community is invited to bring their gardening tools (especially shovels) and join in the landscaping process. Plant Removal Day will be held on Saturday, October 24 from 8 a.m. to 12 noon. Existing plants will be removed and available for anyone to take home (bring your own containers) and make their garden a little greener.
Planting Day will be held on Saturday, November 14 from 8 a.m. to 12 noon. New drought tolerant water-wise plants will be installed.
A ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the new garden will immediately follow the completion of the planting process.
Santa Catalina Branch Library is located at 999 E. Washington Blvd., Pasadena.
