HEALTH DEPARTMENT EARNS NATIONAL ACCREDITATION
Public Health Department (PPHD) Director Michael Johnson today announced the
department has achieved national accreditation through the Public Health
Accreditation Board (PHAB). The PPHD is
one of only eight public health agencies in California and less than 200 across
the nation to achieve this distinction for achieving national standards that foster
community health needs and promote continuous quality improvement
recognition is the culmination of more than four years of hard work by PPHD
staff and our community partners. Our
department underwent a rigorous, multi-faceted, peer-reviewed assessment
process to meet or exceed public health quality standards and measures,” Mr.
Johnson said. The PHAB accreditation is for
five years, 2016-2021.

PPHD is able to assess health conditions in the community and how well staff
are prepared to respond to disease outbreaks or other emergencies.
