The community is invited to share their ideas for a proposed park site at Union Street and El Molino Avenue in Pasadena’s Playhouse District during a series of four workshops that are part of a grant application seeking funding for the proposed site.
The first will be Thursday, April 28, from 6:30 to 8:30 pm in the South Hall at Pasadena Presbyterian Church, 585 E. Colorado Blvd.
The workshops will provide a forum for the community to share ideas and suggestions for park features and beautification, park hours, public safety concerns and solutions. They will also focus on developing, selecting and refining park designs.
“If successful, the grant can help fund the proposed park in an area of the Central District that has a lack of open park space,” said Robert Montaño, business district coordinator in the Economic Development Division of the City Manager’s Department.
“There are more than 8,000 residents and 38,000 employees within the half-mile walking radius of this site,” said Erlinda Romo, executive director of the Playhouse District Association. “A park at Union and El Molino is a perfect opportunity to offer an oasis for the community to gather and re-energize.”
All workshops will be at Pasadena Presbyterian Church, 585 E. Colorado Blvd.
