Pasadena police officers will become servers at The Hamlet, 214 S. Lake Ave., on Tuesday, March 2, from 5 to 9 p.m.

All tips they receive will benefit the Special Olympics Southern California, the regional arm, serving the San Gabriel Valley, of the global non-profit organization that serves 200 million people with intellectual disabilities.

Everyone in and around Pasadena is encouraged to consider dining out that night and tipping their favorite police waiter for services rendered.

“Our employees do a lot to support local non-profit and social service agencies to which we refer families who need resources to help them cope,” said Interim Police Chief Christopher Vicino. “This fundraiser is a fun way for our officers to interact with residents and others in the community, assist the Special Olympics and say thank you for the work they do.”
