The theme of the fifth and final session of Pasadena’s General Plan speaker series Wednesday, Nov. 4, will be “Our Plans and the Marketplace.”

The 6:30 p.m. event at Pasadena City College’s Community Education Center, 3035 E. Foothill Blvd., will examine the changing economy in relation to local planning efforts.   Speakers will include Dr. Nancy Dayton Sidhu, vice president and chief economist with the Los Angeles County Economic Development Corporation.  Interim San Gabriel City Manager Steve Preston will moderate the discussion, which will be followed by a question-and-answer period with the audience.

The speaker series has been among many activities designed in preparation for updates to the Land Use, Mobility, and Open Space and Conservation Elements of Pasadena’s General Plan.  Other activities have included MoveAbout Tours, community meetings and council district workshops.

A General Plan Open House Extravaganza is scheduled Saturday, Nov. 14, as the culmination to months of community engagement activities.
