In 2008 she, along with the PFD, sponsored a neighborhood Emergency Response Training Session where over 75 neighborhood residents were trained in the basics of emergency response in the event of earthquake or other civil disasters.

She served as Pasadena City Planning Commissioner from 1993‐1997 and was appointed again to the Planning Commission in 2005 by Mayor Bill Bogaard. She served as a member of the city’s 1998 Charter Reform Task Force, was Co‐Chair of the North Lake Specific Plan Coordinating Committee and has been an active participant in her Neighborhood Association.
